Appendix 3 Additional Species Not Yet Assessed<br />

Below follows a list <strong>of</strong> all o<strong>the</strong>r taxa that are currently being considered <strong>for</strong> inclusion in <strong>the</strong><br />

<strong>Register</strong>, under <strong>the</strong> County Scarce and County <strong>Rare</strong> categories. The data are currently<br />

insufficient to determine whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong>se taxa meet <strong>the</strong> criteria or are just under-recorded.<br />

Berula erecta possibly over-looked, more data needed<br />

Callitriche obtusangula probably over-looked<br />

Callitriche platycarpa few records but this is likely to be our commonest species<br />

Centaurea debeauxii ssp. thuilleri may only be worthy <strong>of</strong> varietal status<br />

Centaurea nigra sens. str. early flowering floodplain populations may lie here<br />

Cerastium semidecandrum possibly over-looked, more data needed<br />

Cirsium eriophorum probably in decline relative to historic baseline<br />

Euphorbia lathyris dubiously native, needs fur<strong>the</strong>r consideration<br />

Euphrasia nemorosa probably in decline relative to historic baseline<br />

Geranium lucidum probably a recent colonist derived from <strong>the</strong> horticultural trade.<br />

Glyceria x pedicellata possibly over-looked<br />

Hottonia palustris possibly declining, more searches need to be made <strong>of</strong> fenland drains<br />

Lotus tenuis probably under-recorded in <strong>the</strong> Peterborough area<br />

Nasturtium x sterile probably over-looked, cultivated <strong>for</strong> watercress<br />

Persicaria hydropiper probably over-looked<br />

Poa humilis more data needed<br />

Potamogeton pusillus probably over-looked<br />

Pyrus communis an archaeophyte but our trees are probably more recent escapes<br />

Rumex maritimus probably in decline relative to historic baseline<br />
