<strong>Plan</strong>; commissioning any relevant projects<br />

and experiments relating to <strong>Burnham</strong> <strong>Beeches</strong>.<br />

4.1.9 Buffer land<br />

Buffering can help reduce <strong>the</strong> impacts <strong>of</strong><br />

landscape fragmentation. This may be achieved<br />

by acquiring land on <strong>the</strong> fringes <strong>of</strong> <strong>Burnham</strong><br />

<strong>Beeches</strong> (and which also may be used in o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

ways, such as layback land for grazing animals)<br />

or influencing neighbouring landowners to<br />

manage <strong>the</strong>ir land with nature conservation<br />

objectives in mind.<br />

It is also important to continue and streng<strong>the</strong>n<br />

<strong>the</strong> close dialogue with planning authorities and<br />

o<strong>the</strong>r bodies whose decisions might have an<br />

impact upon <strong>Burnham</strong> <strong>Beeches</strong><br />

Target: comment on local planning issues<br />

that have <strong>the</strong> potential to negatively affect<br />

impact upon <strong>Burnham</strong> <strong>Beeches</strong>, ei<strong>the</strong>r alone<br />

or in combination and seeking decisions that<br />

secure <strong>the</strong> long term vision for <strong>Burnham</strong><br />

<strong>Beeches</strong>; contributing actively to <strong>the</strong> local<br />

Core Strategy and similar documents; taking<br />

every realistic opportunity to help create<br />

buffers for <strong>Burnham</strong> <strong>Beeches</strong>.<br />

Target: work with partners towards a<br />

network <strong>of</strong> green spaces linking <strong>Burnham</strong><br />

<strong>Beeches</strong> to <strong>the</strong> wider countryside.<br />
