Club Information & News The Mainsail Look for the listing of weekly and monthly events hosted at the club in the Mainsail. The EGYC Mainsail is electronically sent to you every Tuesday morning so that you may stay informed about upcoming Club Happenings! Spray Advertising Are you looking to promote your business or share what you do with fellow club members. An ad in the monthly Spray will let your fellow members know what you do and the services you may offer. Members referring members is always a good idea. If you are interested in finding out more information about showcasing your business in the Spray, please call Deanna Delgado or email her at ddelgado@egyachtclub.com Website Access Many of you may not know that we have a “Members Only” section of the website. This section features all of our upcoming events and what’s happening at the club on a regular basis. Each member is given a user name and password to access this section of the web site. If you do not have access currently, please call Deanna Delgado or email her at ddelgado@egyachtclub.com. She will reset your access for you. It is a wonderful value at $16.95++ and $9.95++ for children (3 and under are complementary). It’s the best brunch in town for its value and includes an Omelet Station with a variety of toppings and fillings, Slow Roasted Prime Rib of Beef, Breakfast items including Grits, Bacon and Sausage, Seafood Entrees, Hot Lunch Entrees, Extensive Salad Bar, Fresh Fruit Display, Imported and Domestic Cheeses, Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce, Assorted Cakes, Pies and Tortes... Brunch is from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Weekly & Monthly Events We are hosting monthly events such as Coffee with the GM, Lunch with the Commodore, Ladies Bunco, the Women’s Council Luncheon featuring various topics and speakers, similar to the Men’s Captains Table which is hosted every Tuesday and Women’s and Men’s Bridge on varying days. If you would like to become more active in the Club, call the front desk for more information. GM Coffee - 8:30 am Saturday, April 27th Join Loraine Vienne, CCM for coffee and share your thoughts on what’s happening at the club! Lunch with the Commodore Thursday, April 25th Join Commodore Peter Heinen for lunch and share your thoughts on the club! From the Helm... I want to thank all the members who attended the Commodore’s Ball and Change of Watch Ceremony. While we had some unseasonably cold weather outside, the warmth shown to my family and friends Peter Heinen Commodore was truly outstanding. Loraine and her team did a fabulous job decorating the club, it truly looked like a Yacht Club. Chef Cook’s team prepared terrific meals for both the Ball and Commodore’s Brunch and Chris Whalen’s wait staff did an outstanding job. Due to high winds the Fleet Review on the river was cancelled but the Flag Officers made the rounds on the docks inspecting the boats. I would like to congratulate Bruce Hess for winning the Best Dressed Power Boat and Dentis McDaniel who won the Commodore’s Cup for the Best Dressed Ship. Hopefully next year we can get the sailors to dress their vessels. Congratulations to David Cote who was awarded the Janet Joyne’s Employee Award for Member Service. Please thank David for his outstanding service to the membership when you see him. Lunch with the Commodore is scheduled for Thursday, April 25th this month due to a conflict on Wednesday. We will be moving the lunch back to Wednesday next month. Upcoming Events: April 13th - the Tennis Committee will be hosting the 2nd Annual EGYC Olympics. This was a fun event last year and should be even better this year. The Membership Committee is having a Prospective Member Mixer at the Dragon Point Bar Friday April 19th. Please contact the Membership Director if there is someone you would like to invite to the event. The weekend of April 26-28th the club will be hosting a USPTA Grand Prix Tennis Tournament. Matches begin Friday at 5pm and run all day Saturday and Sunday. Plan on attending the Players Party at the Harbor Grill Saturday the 27th from 6 to 10pm. That same weekend the Fleet will be cruising to Melbourne Harbor for the annual Art Show. Please see the Spray, Mainsail or website for more information on these and other activities. Results of the election: New Board of Governor Al Dukes and Jon Reed were elected. The Bylaws items passed and the dues increase was approved.
