Member Spotlight Sherra Cameruci Having been transferred to Brevard County from Ocala in 1994, where I was associated with a developer, I knew little of the area. It was in 2000 when I was invited to dinner at the Eau Gallie Yacht Club that I realized what a wonderful facility I had been missing. I immediately joined, and have never regretted that decision. The friends I have made, the committees I have served on and the activities I have participated in have enriched my life in our special community. As we all engage in other activities, I also have a passion for all types of fishing. Living on the ocean gives me an opportunity to walk out the door on a clear morning and cast for whatever seems to be swimming along the shore. I have also dabbled in fly fishing and have had classes in fly tying. In addition to my leisure activities, I own Cameruci Reality, specializing in oceanfront condominiums. As this is a bustling market, it keeps me extremely busy. I am fortunate to have my son, daughter in law and two grandchildren who not only live in the area, but enjoy our pristine beaches. I look forward to meeting many more members of our club in the future. Our very first event is a Prospective Member cocktail party at the Dragon Point Bar on Friday April 19th. This is the perfect time to invite those friends and acquaintances you’ve been trying to get to join for complementary music, drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and a tour. Stay for dinner and dancing on what is arguably the best night of the week at our Club - Friday! Please contact Emily Carew with the names of anyone you would like to sign up or have us reach out and more formally invite. We will hold at least two more such events during the year, so keep your eyes open for potential new members. New ideas we are working on this year include surveys for what new members are looking for, utilizing our banquet and professional meeting business more effectively (yet tastefully) for new memberships, identification of local boat owners that may be interested in our available slips, and innovative advertising approaches consistent with our status as a private and notfor-profit Club. For those of you interested in helping to acclimate our newest members, our Ambassador’s Program is now underway. Please provide your own name and interest areas (boating, tennis, fitness, poolside, etc) to Emily, who will contact you occasionally to connect you with new members with similar interests.
