NOTES ON MEMBERSHIP PASSPORTS AND HORSE REGISTRATION<br />

WITH THE BRITISH SKEWBALD AND PIEBALD ASSOCIATION<br />

FEES (at time of printing) please ✔ <strong>and</strong> enclose the appropriate registration fee.<br />

BSPA processing times: Please allow 21 working days to complete applications. If data is incorrect,<br />

missing or ineligible this will extend the timescale <strong>and</strong> may lead to all paperwork being returned.<br />

HORSE PASSPORTS AND REGISTRATIONS<br />

Passports are issued to both BSPA Members <strong>and</strong> non-members.<br />

For Passports to be issued <strong>and</strong> to register the horse/pony for Affiliated competition you MUST send the<br />

following items:–<br />

• A fully completed application form giving as much information as possible. Please do not leave a<br />

blank, use n/k. Write clearly <strong>and</strong> fill in ALL SECTIONS.<br />

• Ensure you send two photographs of the horse side on. this is very important for positive identification<br />

<strong>and</strong> our records.<br />

• An original dual language sketch sheet signed <strong>and</strong> stamped by the Vet completing it (not necessary<br />

for over-stamping)<br />

• Verified Breeding – send all of the above + a BSPA or other Breed Society Covering certificate, DNA<br />

fee as appropriate, copy of dam line or other society stallion pedigree certificates or print outs with<br />

stud book references <strong>and</strong> book numbers. DNA REQUIRED.<br />

• Verified Breeding – first generation Mare. Send any of the above as appropriate + photograph of the<br />

Mare & foal <strong>and</strong> a photocopy of the original non BSPA Passport for the Mare. BSPA registered Mares<br />

need only the photograph + Registration Number. DNA REQUIRED.<br />

• Recorded Delivery Postage – Please send an additional £3 if you require your documents returned<br />

by RD.<br />

• Membership numbers must be quoted.<br />

BSPA MEMBERS:<br />

■ VB Foals under age of six months + BSPA covering certificate - £25 ■. Older than six months + BSPA<br />

covering certificate - £40 + DNA<br />

■ VB Foals under age of six months; without BSPA covering certificate - £40 ■. Older than six months<br />

without BSPA covering certificate - £50 + DNA<br />

NON BSPA MEMBERS:<br />

■ VB Foals under age of six months + BSPA covering certificate - £45<br />

■ VB Foals over age of six months + BSPA covering certificate - £50 + DNA<br />

■ VB Foals any age without BSPA Covering certificates £60 + DNA<br />

DNA Parentage testing is required for all foals over six months old (from 1 Jan annually)<br />

including foals conceived by AI or embryonic transfer, with a covering certificate from any<br />

breed society incl. BSPA. ■ DNA fee £45 to be sent to BSPA in addition to above fees.<br />

■ Horse Registration/Identity Passport over-stamp - £25 + BSPA Membership required<br />

■ Horse Registration/VB Passport over-stamp - £25 + BSPA Membership required<br />

■ <strong>Skewbald</strong>/<strong>Piebald</strong> Unverified Breeding Identity Passport - £25<br />

■ <strong>Skewbald</strong>/<strong>Piebald</strong> Unverified Breeding Identity Passport upgrade to Verified Breeding - £50 + DNA<br />

Parentage test<br />

■ <strong>Skewbald</strong>/<strong>Piebald</strong> Unverified Breeding Identity Passport upgraded at Grading - £20<br />

■ BSPA Regulation Basic ID Passport (RBID) upgrade to Full Passport - £20 Please<br />

■ BSPA Regulation Basic ID Passport (RBID) – Member £20, non-member £30<br />

■ Duplicate Lost Passports: first issue £45. Subsequent issues £100<br />

■ Prefix first application fee £45 ■ Prefix extended to BSPA fee £20<br />
