The <strong>Newtown</strong> <strong>Business</strong> <strong>Association</strong> has been in<br />
existence since <strong>the</strong> 1950’s. Over 200 businesses join<br />
each year and network at monthly breakfasts, evening<br />
business card exchanges and event planning meetings.<br />
The NBA provides for <strong>the</strong>m an environment in which<br />
member companies can build strategic relationships in<br />
order to grow <strong>the</strong>ir business. The organization’s<br />
mission is to promote <strong>Newtown</strong> as a great place to<br />
live, work, worship, shop and do business. It is<br />
through <strong>the</strong> association’s service to <strong>Newtown</strong> that this<br />
mission is achieved.<br />
The members are responsible and committed to raising<br />
funds for local charities via our annual Golf Outing<br />
and Breakfast with Santa. They organize and sponsor<br />
o<strong>the</strong>r highly valued community events, including <strong>the</strong><br />
Easter Egg Hunt, <strong>Newtown</strong> Holiday Parade, First<br />
Night <strong>Newtown</strong>, <strong>Business</strong> Expo, Welcome Day and<br />
<strong>the</strong> Antique & Classic Auto Show.<br />
The NBA programs help to create important memories<br />
of living in a community where <strong>the</strong> partnership of<br />
businesses and residents matters. The <strong>Association</strong><br />

William Penn in 1684, one<br />
of several towns that Penn<br />
had organized around<br />

Pickering Manor is a center for senior living,<br />

The 9th annual NBA <strong>Newtown</strong> Holiday Parade which will be<br />
held on Sunday Dec 1st at 2pm. A family tradition, this parade<br />
is a magical experience for <strong>the</strong> entire community. Over 5000<br />
people attend & watch <strong>the</strong> estimated 1200 participants, including<br />
<strong>the</strong> high school marching bands, Mummers bands, horse drawn<br />
carriages, floats, antique cars, color guard, fire trucks, Santa &<br />
much more!<br />
Come early and bring all your family and friends, blankets and<br />
chairs! The entire parade route has sidewalks available for<br />
spectators to pick a spot and watch. There are also several<br />
restaurants and coffee shops on <strong>the</strong> parade route that have<br />
spectator seating.<br />
The parade will begin on S. State St. at <strong>the</strong><br />
Stocking Works Bldg., travel north on State St.,<br />
left onto Washington Ave, right onto Sycamore St.<br />
and come to an end at Durham Rd. Before and<br />
after <strong>the</strong> parade, many <strong>Business</strong> will have special<br />
promotions so don’t leave town before grabbing a<br />
bite to eat or stocking up for <strong>the</strong> holidays.<br />
