are genotyped, 56% sires are genotyped & 97%
sires have a genotype or micro-satellite.
• IHFA already undertaking parentage verification
on 100% males.
– No “long-term” impact on male registrations.
– Part of overall registration fee.
• Opportunity for “seamless” move to SNP’s. More
benefits for members.
– Suggested sires with SNP’s, MGS validation.
• Other dairy breeds – follow beef model.
