• Proposition to move all pedigree beef males to<br />
“new” genomic service.<br />
• 15k pedigree males in 2013.<br />
• “Full cost” of service = €40/animal (chip,<br />
extraction, post, pack, administration, gen EBI<br />
& initial 20% errors) = €600k.<br />
• Beef farmers currently paying €120k (<strong>for</strong> MS<br />
based services). How do we “close the gap”?<br />
• Establish a 5 year plan, including relevant<br />
funding models.<br />
