88/89 Series
FRAME CONSTRUCTION
(88 SERIES)
• 88X-GMXX and 88X-GRXX features a one piece metal tube frame for structural stability
• Polyurethane arm caps are standard to enhance comfort
(89 SERIES)
• All joints are double doweled and securely glued for maximum joint stability
• 89X-GWXX features a metal seat frame for added strength
SEAT CONSTRUCTION
• Blow molded polyethylene seat or solid molded plywood panels that are covered with
high grade polyurethane foam
BACK CONSTRUCTION
• Solid molded plywood panels are covered with 1 ½" of high grade polyurethane foam
• 88X-ENFXC, 88X-MNFXC and 88X-MRFXC models feature a J-bar mechanism, which allows
the back to flex, providing continuous support as the user moves
ARMS (89 SERIES)
• Arms are made of kiln dried exterior northern hard maple and are attached to the seat with bolts and
to the back with a fastener
• Arms on the 89X-EWECC and 89X-MWECC have a protective polyurethane arm cap
ARMS (UPHOLSTERED)
• Arms are made of fiberboard covered with high density polyurethane foam
ARMS (88 SERIES)
• Arms on the 88X-ENFXC and 88X-MNFXC are molded nylon with a polyurethane cap
CONTROL MECHANISM/LIFT
• The standard knee tilt mechanism features a heavy-duty adjustable tension spring for a variety of
body sizes and minimal rise of front seat edge; this allows user’s feet to remain planted when
chair is in reclining position
• The combination gas lift/tilt lock lever allows dual function with simple in/out movement for lockout
and up/down movement for height adjustment
BASE AND CASTERS
• Nylon base features standard black five-prong fiberglass reinforced nylon to ensure long life
• Wood base features a standard five-prong, rigid steel understructure to ensure a long life
• Caster posts fit directly into steel sleeves, greatly reducing caster socket failure
• Decorative hardwood caps complement the chair design
• Both wood and nylon bases have black, hard double wheel casters, which work on multiple surfaces
• Black, soft double wheel casters are available for use on hard floors; upcharge applies to this option
• All National bases are tested to BIFMA standards using 2500 lb. force

• Pneumatic jury base
FINISH
• Wood models feature a catalyzed top coat resists denting, peeling and reactions to chemicals
• Can be cleaned with a damp cloth
• Features our silver ion antimicrobial finish which inhibits the growth of bacteria and microbes
