Alliance Program Overview<br />
<strong>National</strong> has developed joint programs with Arc-Com, CF Stinson, Maharam,<br />
Momentum and Ultrafabrics to offer you quality office seating with exciting<br />
lines of designer upholsteries. This program enables you to issue just one<br />
purchase order, providing simplified ordering and the most convenient, yet<br />
complete, seating choices available from a single source.<br />
Application<br />
Application of the Alliance Program upholstery will be depicted as on the<br />
memo sample or website. If a different application is desired the pattern<br />
will need to be custom quoted.<br />
Directional upholstery, such as stripes, patterns, and plaids may not be<br />
suitable for chairs with contoured shapes, tufting, or decorative stitching.<br />
Every effort is made to upholster all chairs as expertly as possible; however<br />
such orders are not subject to return.<br />
Fabric that requires non-stock special treatments such as flame proofing,<br />
anti-microbial treatment, electrical conductive backing, water repellent,<br />
stain repellent, or acrylic backing are not part of this program. Such orders<br />
should be specified as COM.<br />
Lead Times/Availability<br />
Models specified with Alliance Program fabrics will be acknowledged at<br />
standard lead times based on the supplier’s delivery schedule. Exceptions<br />
may occur when extended lead times apply. Each supplier reserves the right<br />
to discontinue patterns and colors. <strong>National</strong> will not be held responsible for<br />
suppliers discontinuing patterns/colors or when minimum order quantities<br />
apply. Contact customer service for availability before finalizing orders.<br />
Warranty<br />
Alliance Program fabrics are non-standard materials and are not covered<br />
under our warranty.<br />
Pricing<br />
Alliance Program graded pricing includes the cost of material. Repeat is also<br />
accounted for and no additional upcharge is required.<br />
Fabric and <strong>Seating</strong> Construction<br />
Different fabrics and seating constructions will respond better than<br />
others to specific seating applications. Certain fabric constructions are more<br />
prone to relaxing over time and may demonstrate characteristics such as<br />
wrinkling, pilling, fuzzing, or puddling. Some upholsteries may experience<br />
dye transfer (clothing dyes transfer to the seating fabric.) This does not<br />
indicate that the fabric or application is deficient, but rather it is an<br />
inherent characteristic of that fabric or application and is considered<br />
normal behavior.<br />

Alliance Program Textiles<br />
TB133<br />
California Technical Bulletin No. 133 – Flammability test procedure for<br />
seating furniture used in public occupancies. <strong>National</strong> provides pre-approval<br />
for TB133 chair/alliance fabric combinations. The availability of TB133 on<br />
specific chair/alliance fabric combinations can be found at<br />
www.<strong>National</strong><strong>Office</strong><strong>Furniture</strong>.com/alliance. Each of the graded-in listings<br />
denote TB133 applicability. Even though we try to keep this document as<br />
accurate as possible, the supplier may change contents, finishes, etc...<br />
without our knowledge. Customer needs to confirm that the information on<br />
this listing matches the content information from the Alliance partner. If<br />
no test data is available for a particular fabric/chair combination, the<br />
TB133 order will not be allowed. These pre-approved alliance fabrics can be<br />
ordered as standard product – no custom quote required.<br />
To order seating to meeting the TB133 fire code, specify an “F” at the end<br />
of the model number (Ex: N59AAF).<br />
If a fabric/chair combination has not been burn tested, the customer has<br />
the option of having it tested. Pricing for the testing will be $ 1300 list,<br />
including shipping for testing services plus the chair price (test sample).<br />
TB133 testing requested by the customer will require a custom quote. The<br />
fabric/chair burn test results will determine whether future orders can be<br />
ordered as standard product or custom quotes. Each instance may vary.<br />
TB133 alliance list pricing can be found on pages 352 - 389 .<br />
Letters of assurance are available upon request. A letter of assurance<br />
verifies that a TB133 test was conducted on a combination of chair/fabric<br />
comparable to the requested chair/fabric.<br />
