FUEL PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS
35 Series
SEAT CONSTRUCTION
•2 ½" of high grade polyurethane foam covers a solid contoured molded plywood seat panel
for support and comfort
BACK CONSTRUCTION
• Injection molded polypropylene outer shell
• Blow molded polyethylene inner back shell designed with deep ribbing to provide extra support
• Backs feature 2 ½" of custom molded, controlled density polyurethane foam for consistency and
good contoured support on all models
• Large and tall models feature solid molded plywood panels
BACK REST
• Back height can be adjusted by simply lifting up on the back
• The range of adjustment is approximately 2"
ARMS
• Height adjustable arms have encased uprights made of reinforced nylon
• Height adjustable arms adjust in height with a push button to one of five positions within a 2 ½" range
• Arms with pivot function allow arm pad rotation to three different positions for better ergonomic use
• Arms with width adjustment allow arms to adjust within a 2" range
• Arm pads are soft polyurethane
• Loop arms have encased high strength steel uprights made of polyurethane
• High performance arms have arm pads that adjust in depth, width, and pivot
• High performance arms are available either with arm height adjustment or arm height and width adjustment
CONTROL MECHANISM—KNEE TILT
• The standard knee tilt mechanism features a heavy-duty adjustment tension spring for a variety of body sizes and
minimal rise of front seat edge; this allows the users feet to remain planted when the chair is in the reclining position
• The combination gas lift/tilt lock lever allows dual functions with a simple in/out movement for lockout and an
up/down movement for height adjustment
• Standard pneumatic gas cylinder lift allows seat to raise and lower 4" and provides spring action for added comfort
• Seatslide option adjusts seat depth to seven different positions within a 2 ½" range
CONTROL MECHANISM—SYNCHRONOUS
• Synchronous control allows the back and seat to move in a synchronized 2.3:1 ratio motion
• Free float feature allows the chair to tilt freely
• A side activated telescoping tension adjustment handle provides a comfortable way to adjust
back tension to meet individual needs
• The back angle can be locked in one of five positions
• Standard pneumatic gas cylinder lift allows seat to raise and lower 4 ¼" and provides spring action for added comfort
• Seatslide option adjusts seat depth within a 2 ½" range
• Low back models feature the option of the standard pneumatic cylinder, which allows the seat to raise and lower 4 ¼",
or a lower height pneumatic cylinder, which allows the seat to raise and lower 3"
CONTROL MECHANISM—LARGE AND TALL MODELS
• Synchronous control allows the back and seat to move in a synchronized 2:1 ratio motion
• Free float feature allows the chair to tilt freely or be locked in the neutral position
• To maintain proper tension and stability, the synchronous control is recommended for individuals weighing less than 425 lbs.
• Standard pneumatic gas cylinder lift allows seat to raise and lower 4 ¼" and provides spring action for added comfort
BASE AND CASTERS
• Black, five-prong fiberglass reinforced nylon base ensures long life
• Hard, double wheel casters, which work on multiple surfaces, are standard
• Soft, double wheel casters, for use on hard floors, are available at an upcharge
• All National bases are tested to BIFMA standards using 2500 lbs. of force
LARGE AND TALL AND INTENSIVE USE MODELS
• Intensive use models meet the Federal Intensive Usage Standard FED-STD 834
• Large and tall models support up to 425 lbs.
• Feature a black, 27" five-prong aluminum base tested using 4500 lbs. of force
• Hard, double wheel casters, which work on multiple surfaces, are standard
