The oocytes were suspended <strong>in</strong> 0.3M<br />
glucose drops, with pH at 7.3, <strong>and</strong><br />
placed between 2 parallel electrodes<br />
(2 mm apart) <strong>in</strong> an electric slide<br />
chamber (BTX micro slide P/N 450,<br />
0.5mm gap; BTX, San Diego, CA).<br />
A double square direct-current<br />
pulse (130V, 50µc apart) was<br />
generated by us<strong>in</strong>g an electro<br />
cell manipulator (BTX) to<br />
achieve the desired field<br />
strength of 2.6 – 2.8 kv/cm.<br />

oocytes immediately were<br />
transferred back to the<br />

<strong>in</strong>cubated under oil <strong>in</strong> 5%<br />
