Win Mac Tip If your pages are packed with information, we recommend a maximum of six Notebook file pages per printed page. Mac OS X For example, you can record all the major points made during a meeting in a Notebook file using the SMART Board interactive whiteboard. At the end of the meeting, make hard copy printouts of these notes or the pages of a presentation made on the SMART Board interactive whiteboard and distribute these copies to participants for future reference. While you can print the pages of a Notebook file just as you would the pages of any other document, you can also use the Page Setup command to specify how the individual pages will appear on the printout. (Note this feature is not available for the Mac OS X operating system.) If you're using Notebook software on a computer that's not connected to any SMART equipment, the watermark that appears on each page won't appear on your printout. Select Send Mail from the File menu (Windows operating systems only) to e-mail meeting minutes and presentations as a Notebook file attachment. NOTE: The recipient of the message must have SMART Notebook software installed to open a Notebook file. You can, however, save a Notebook file as an image file, HTML file or PDF file for recipients without Notebook software (see pages 57 through 59). To print a Notebook file (or selected pages): 1 Select Print from the File menu. or Press the Print toolbar button. The Print dialog box will appear. 2 To specify a printer other than the default, select a printer from the Name drop-down list. 3 To view or alter the properties for any selected printers, press the Properties button. 4 To print the entire Notebook file, select All in the page range group. or To print a range of pages, select Pages in the page range group, and enter the first and last page number to print. To specify the format of images with Page Setup: 1 Select Page Setup from the File menu. The Printer Page Setup dialog box will appear. This dialog box enables you to specify how the individual pages you’ve created in the current Notebook file will appear on the printout. You can specify how many Notebook file pages will appear per printed page, to a maximum of 12. You can also specify portrait or landscape orientation. 2 Under Formatting Options, specify framing, page name and margin options for the Notebook file pages. 3 If you’re using the Windows operating system, select landscape or portrait under Orientation. 4 Specify the number of pages you want to appear on each printed page in the Number of Document Pages per Printed Page group. To print a Notebook file in the Mac OS X operating system: 1 Select Print from the File menu. 60 SMART Board User’s Guide
The Print dialog box appears. 2 Accept the default of one copy or enter the number of copies you want printed in Copies. 3 Select the number of pages from your Notebook file you want to print or accept the default All. 4 Press the Print button. To send a Notebook file as an e-mail attachment: 1 Select Send Mail from the File menu. If you haven’t yet named and saved the Notebook file, a Save As dialog box will appear. 2 Type a file name and select a directory. 3 Click the Save button. A New Message window will appear with the current Notebook file in the message body. 4 Enter the name of the intended recipient in the To text box. or Click the To button and select the recipient’s name from the Address Book dialog box. 5 Select Send from the File menu or click the Send button.
