The Just Enough is a very nice transition bit when moving from the ring snaffle to a curb bit. The limited gag action is softer than moving from the ring snaffle directly into a curb bit with swivel or solid cheeks. The 3-piece ergonomically designed mouthpiece results in soft and even pressure across the tongue, bars and lips. Reinsman’s Sweet & Sour mouthpiece tastes like a green apple dipped in molasses and is sure to become your horse’s favorite! The sweet and sour combination causes increased salivation, leading to a more relaxed jaw and a supple mouth. Copper is a soft metal, check for signs of wear before each use. Start with #355 and move up to #450 if more leverage is desired.
Gentle Guide 5” Mouth, 4 1/2” Cheeks 3/8” Smooth Copper Snaffle # 374 BITS. The Gentle Guide is a great starter bit or transition bit. The unique cheeks offer similar advantages to a Full Cheek snaffle. Yet, this bit is even more gentle! The wider cheeks disperse pressure across the horse’s face to encourage turns and flexion instead of at a single concentrated point like the Full Cheek. The slight gag action makes this bit “slower” than a traditional Full Cheek because it takes the mouthpiece longer to engage. The smooth snaffle is a nice average 3/8” diameter and the copper causes the horse to salivate making for a softer more supple mouth. The Gentle Guide is easily adaptable to a German Martingale for stepping training up a notch. This is sure to be one of your new favorite bits.
