PKB Privatbank SA («PKB» for short) is a Swiss banking
institution with a national and international outlook,
founded in 1958 and specialised in Private Banking.
Based in Lugano, with branches in Bellinzona, Geneva and
Zurich and a subsidiary in St. John’s, (Antigua, West Indies),
PKB is made up of a multicultural team of about 220
specialists in financial consultancy, asset management, loans
and financial planning.
The Bank focuses mainly on Private Banking and offers a
wide array of solutions. Its range of services is completed by
Corporate Banking and Capital Market services, a field in
which it is one of the leading independent market makers on
the primary Swiss franc bond market.
PKB manages assets totalling about 7 billion Swiss francs.
The network
PKB Privatbank is 100% owned by the Compagnie de
l’Occident pour la Finance e l’Industrie SA (COFI), a
company incorporated in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
and listed on the local stock exchange.
COFI also controls 97.0650% of Cassa Lombarda Spa,
Milan (indirectly through PKB for 33.9361%), a bank
founded in 1923 and specialised in private banking and asset
management. Cassa Lombarda’s headquarters are in Milan
with branches in Rome, Bergamo and Busto Arsizio.
PKB Privatbank Ltd. (controlled 100%) is registered in
Antigua in the West Indies. As part of the selection of
alternative funds worth noting is the holding in Rasini
Fairway Capital, located in London and New York.
Finally South America is «covered» with the 100% owned
associated company Planetarium PKB Consultoria SA
in Montevideo (Uruguay) and through a 10% holding
in Queluz Gestao de Activos Ltda., specialised in the
management of assets with headquarters in Sao Paolo and
offices in the main Brazilian cities.

Asset management
Asset management demands the expertise of a qualified
professional team. The asset management mandate implies
for the bank to choose investments with the aim of optimising
returns and the risk of the portfolios as part of a
common strategy.
In the last two decades, the globalisation of the world
economy, technological innovation and the multiplication
of financial instruments have revolutionised the markets,
widening the spectrum of investment opportunities, while
increasing the risks for the investor.
A growing number of private investors have turned to discretionary
asset management services (GPM and GPF), which
have a host of benefits: access to the bank’s specialist team
featuring a huge array of economic and financial skills and
an efficient decision-making process, which starts from an
analysis of the situation of the global economy to progressively
move to the selection of asset classes, currencies and
individual investment vehicles. Our specialists ensure constant
presence in the markets and the possibility to quickly
react to sudden and unsettling news. They are skilled in
understanding and assessing the various markets as well
as complex financial instruments, thus expanding the
investment opportunities. They also structure portfolios by
optimising the return / risk profile.
Fund-based asset management
An alternative to traditional asset management, it follows
a different process that starts from the choice of the best
managers to then achieve the structuring of the portfolios.
It requires what we call an «open architecture».
Using quantitative and qualitative analysis methods, the
bank’s specialists examine several thousand investment
funds diversified by asset class and geographic area. The
analysis leads to the selection of the «best of the best» investment
funds, which are then used to structure the managed
portfolios. These are both traditional funds invested
in individual asset classes or business sectors, and funds of
alternative funds, divided into different investment strategies.
Fiscal and inheritance planning assistance
This type of consultancy allows for careful planning geared
towards durably transmitting and protecting assets, in
complete compliance of all the laws in force in the country of
