ryan WILLIAMS<br />
OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR/<br />
QUARTERBACKS<br />
Ryan Williams, a 2001 graduate of North Dakota<br />
State University, enters his fourth season as the<br />
offensive coordinator of the Golden Bears.<br />
Williams earned his degree from NDSU in<br />
speech communications and also had a minor in<br />
business. He completed his masters in organizational<br />
management at Concordia in the sum-<br />
His prior collegiate coaching experience was with Wisconsin-Stout in the<br />
2003 season where he was the quarterbacks and receivers coach. He<br />
began his coaching career at the high school level at Wayzata where he<br />
coached the quarterbacks and receivers from 2001-03. During his college<br />
days, Williams was the starting quarterback for the Bison in 1999 and 2000<br />
and was named co-captain for the 2000 season. He also interned with the<br />
Minnesota Vikings’ public relations department where he assisted in draft<br />
and mini-camp preparation and was responsible for updating player bios.<br />
As a player, Williams had two stints in the Canadian <strong>Football</strong> League with<br />
the Calgary Stampeders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and played for<br />
the Sioux Falls Storm in the National Indoor <strong>Football</strong> League.<br />
Ryan and his wife, Aleasha live in St. Michael, Minn.<br />
derek BRANCH<br />
OFFENSIVE LINE<br />
Branch will enter his second year with the<br />
Golden Bears working with the offensive line.<br />
He came to CU after serving as a key assistant<br />
on the coaching staff at Hamline University for<br />
the previous two seasons (2005-06). Branch<br />
began his stint with the Pipers serving as an assistant<br />
coaching the defensive line for his first<br />
season. He was promoted to offensive coordinator for the 2006 season<br />
where he implemented an offensive package.<br />
Branch received his bachelor of science degree in marketing and business<br />
education in 2004 from Wisconsin-Stout where he was an All-America honorable<br />
mention offensive lineman in 1999 and 2000. As he finished his degree,<br />
Branch began his coaching<br />
career at UW-Stout as a student<br />
assistant. He accepted a graduate<br />
assistant position with The<br />
University of South Dakota<br />
where he earned a master of arts<br />
degree in 2006 in health, physical<br />
education and recreation.<br />
jim MAUER<br />
RUNNING BACKS<br />
Mauer, the younger brother of head coach Mark<br />
Mauer, is a 1988 graduate<br />
of St. Paul Harding and<br />
played college football for<br />
St. Cloud State. He is a<br />
1993 graduate of SCSU<br />
and played in the European<br />
League of American <strong>Football</strong><br />
in 1994 and 1995. He will work with the wide receivers<br />
in his fifth season at CU.<br />
tim KLINGBEIL<br />
GRADUATE ASSISTANT/TIGHT ENDS<br />
Klingbeil is in his third season with the coaching<br />
staff after spending two seasons as a player for<br />
Concordia. While with the Golden Bears, Klingbeil<br />
excelled on the field and in the classroom,<br />
earning NSIC All-Academic honors.<br />
Prior to coming to Concordia, he played at<br />
Northwestern Bible <strong>College</strong> where he won two<br />
UMAC championships. He earned a double major in physical education<br />
and exercise science with a minor in coaching theory.<br />
Aside from leading the tight ends, Klingbeil will also work with the offensive<br />
tackles, serves as the team’s video coordinator and will assist with strength<br />
and conditioning. He is pursuing a masters degree in organizational management<br />
with a sports management emphasis at Concordia.<br />
coddy HARRIS<br />
WIDE RECEIVERS<br />
Harris was born and raised in Rockford, Ill. He is<br />
a 1988 graduate of West High School in Rockford<br />
where he was a standout wide receiver and<br />
defensive back. Harris earned his undergraduate<br />
degree in applied psychology with a minor<br />
human relations from St. Cloud State University<br />
in May of 1993. Furthermore, he earned his<br />
masters degree in social work from St. Thomas<br />
University in May of <strong>2008</strong>. Harris is entering his first year at CU, working<br />
with the wide receivers.<br />
As a player, Harris began his college career at Ellsworth Community <strong>College</strong><br />
in Iowa Falls, Iowa playing wide receiver for a JUCO national power, playing<br />
in the Junior <strong>College</strong> National Championship in 1988 and 1989. He continued<br />
his collegiate career at St. Cloud State, earning SCSU’s most<br />
valuable receiver award in 1991 and 1992. In addition, Harris finished his<br />
SCSU career as the third leading receiver in Husky history.<br />
Coddy resides in Brooklyn Park, Minn. with his wife, Johona, and their three<br />
children, Kaynen, Kiarra and Jocelyn.<br />
