Dr. Robert Holst is the eighth president of Concordia University, St. Paul. He brings to Concordia experiences from many different locations around the world. Dr. Holst is a 1956 graduate of Concordia (St. Paul), and earned his master of divinity and master of sacred theology degrees from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri. He holds the Ph.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary and has done other post-graduate work at the University of Minnesota and the University of California, Irvine, California. He was a Resident at the Center of Ecumenical and Cultural Research at Collegeville, Minnesota, and a Scholar at the Center for Biblical Research in Jerusalem. Dr. Holst is a pastor who served in the ministry in Canada, New Guinea and the United States. As a professor, he taught at Concordia Senior College in Fort Wayne, IN and Concordia University in Irvine, CA. He has also taught courses in Mexico City and Seoul, Korea and the theological seminaries of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod in Fort Wayne and St. Louis, MO. He regularly led service projects to orphanages and the state prison of Baja California, Mexico. Dr. Holst has also led spiritual retreats and served in such diverse places as Alaska, Jamaica, Nigeria and Venezuela. He has served as Co-chair of the Minnesota Campus Compact, and as a member of the Executive Committee and the Partnership Committee of Minnesota Private College Council. He also served on the Mentorship Council of the Lieutenant Governor of the State of Minnesota. A rarity for a college president, Dr. Holst also has an impressive athletic resume. He ran track at Concordia on a team that won the Southern Minnesota JC title two years in a row, serving as team captain his senior year. He won the 880 Yard Run and anchored the championship Sprint Medley Relay team. He also was a starting tackle on his high school football team and was voted “Most Valuable Trackman” his senior year as a prep. Dr. Holst also coached track on the college level at Concordia (Fort Wayne). Dr. Holst and his wife, Lynne, have three children and five grandchildren. Assistant AD Brian Jamros Jamros will be in his seventh year contributing to the Concordia University athletic department. In the summer of 2007, Jamros joined the athletic staff on a full time basis as he was named the Assistant Director of Athletics for Development. He will be responsible for athletic fundraising, corporate sponsorship and the C-Club. In addition, Jamros will be in charge of the annual Golden Bear golf tournaments and the annual fundraising "Put Me in, Coach" dinners. Prior to his full time appointment, Jamros served as Graduate Assistant Athletic Director, where he worked on a day-to-day basis in the athletic administration. He assumed various roles during his graduate assistant tenure, including radio play-by-play and color commentary, game management duties and organizing in-game sponsors and promotions at home events. In 2005, he earned his bachelor of arts degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sport management and is continuing completion of a master of arts degree in organizational management at Concordia. Athletic Director Tom Rubbelke C U G O L D E N B E A R S . C O M / F O O T B A L L In February of 2005, Tom Rubbelke was named Concordia University’s Athletic Director. Prior to being named to his new position, Rubbelke served as the school's Assistant Athletic Director and Compliance Coordinator where he was responsible for Concordia meeting all NCAA regulations regarding scholarships and a student-athlete's academic standing. He also spent seven seasons at the helm of the Concordia softball program where he compiled a 220-124 record, including a 56-25 Northern Sun record since the Bears joined the league in 2000. He guided the Bears to the NSIC regular season and tournament title in 2001, when the team went 27-14 and was named the NSIC Coach of the Year. He guided the Bears to five 30-plus winning seasons in seven years. Prior to taking the head coaching position in 1998, Rubbelke served as the Bears assistant coach for fifteen seasons. He and his wife Barb have two children, Bryan and Teresa, a grandson, Austin and grandaughter, Ali. Assistant AD Tom Mauer Tom Mauer was named Assistant Director of Athletics/Facilities Manager at Concordia University in June of 2005. Mauer is a longtime member of the athletic department, serving as facility manager, assistant baseball and football coach. He also spent one year as interim head baseball coach and he has also manages the on-campus apartments. Mauer will be responsible for set-up and take down of all home game day events, both inside and outside the Gangelhoff Center, assist with scheduling of athletic practices, including alternative practice sites, and facility maintenance and repair. Assistant AD Val Olson Val Olson was hired as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance in June of 2008, only two years after leaving the Golden Bears after a successful volleyball career. Olson earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science, sports psychology and sports management. Her first experience working in athletic administration came in 2006 when she interned with the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. At the NSIC, she gained experience working with the National Letters of Intent program and performing various compliance duties with the league office. Concordia University School Song ON CONCORDIA! President<br />

Dr. Robert Holst<br />

The Rev. Dr. Robert Holst is the<br />

eighth president of Concordia University,<br />

St. Paul. He brings to Concordia<br />

experiences from many different<br />

locations around the world.<br />

Dr. Holst is a 1956 graduate of Concordia<br />

(St. Paul), and earned his master<br />

of divinity and master of sacred theology<br />

degrees from Concordia Seminary, St.<br />

Louis, Missouri. He holds the Ph.D. from<br />
