Evening Arrival 36 x 24, Oil on Linen This beautiful ship is the CALIFORNIAN. She is arriving to Santa Catalina Island at sunset on a warm summer afternoon. The <strong>art</strong>ist imagines the sailors looking forward to a nice meal in the galley with grog and grand tales of adventure. Debra and her husband were in Avalon Harbor at Catalina island on their sport-fishing boat GROUPER. They saw the ship approaching and jumped in their dinghy to get a closer look. It was still afternoon light and not yet sunset when she shot the photos. Debra added the light glowing from inside the ship then changed the atmosphere and clouds to reflect sunset.
