EPOCH Range of years for date-format variables and date functions entered<br />

with a 2-digit year value. AUTOMATIC indicates a 100-year range beginning<br />

69 years before the current year and 30 years after the current<br />

year.<br />

ERRORS Error messages for text output. The setting can be LISTING (alias YES<br />

or ON) or NONE (alias NO or OFF).<br />

EXTENSIONS No longer supported.<br />

FILTER Filter status. Indicates if filtering is currently in effect (FILTER command)<br />

and the filter variable in use (if any).<br />

FORMAT Default print and write formats for numeric variables defined on<br />

DATA LIST in freefield format and to all numeric variables created by<br />

transformation commands. The default is F8.2.<br />

HEADER Headings for text output. The setting is YES, NO, or BLANK. The<br />

default is NO.<br />

JOURNAL No longer supported.<br />

LENGTH Maximum page length for output. The default is 59. This setting<br />

applies only to the text output from the program.<br />

LICENSE Licensed components, expiration date, release number, and maximum<br />

number of users permitted by the license.<br />

LOCALE Operating system locale setting and codepage. In Windows operating<br />

systems, locale is set in the Regional Options control panel.<br />

MESSAGES Resource utilization messages for text output. The setting can be<br />

LISTING (alias YES or ON) or NONE (alias NO or OFF).<br />

MXERRS Maximum number of errors allowed and number of errors so far in<br />

current session. Note: In most implementations of SPSS, the maximum<br />

number of errors defined on SET MXERRS is ignored. However,<br />

the information about number of errors in the current session provided<br />

in SHOW MXERRS can be useful.<br />

MEXPAND Macro expansion. The setting is either ON (alias YES) or OFF (alias<br />

NO). The default is ON.<br />

MITERATE Maximum loop iterations permitted in macro expansions. The default<br />

is 1000.<br />

MNEST Maximum nesting level for macros. The default is 50.<br />

MPRINT Inclusion of expanded macros in the output. The setting is either ON<br />

(alias YES) or OFF (alias NO). The default is OFF.<br />

MXCELLS Maximum number of cells allowed for a new pivot table. The default<br />

is AUTOMATIC, allowing the number to be determined by the available<br />

memory.<br />

MXLOOPS Maximum executions of a loop on a single case. The default is 40.
