that person;<br />

(c) shoots or throws anything at, into or upon or causes anything to come into contract<br />

with any person or thing on the railway;<br />

(d) shows any light or signal, or in any way deals with any existing light or signal, upon or<br />

near the railway; or<br />

(e) by any omission to do any act which it is his duty to do causes the safety <strong>of</strong> any such<br />

person to be endangered,<br />

is guilty <strong>of</strong> an <strong>of</strong>fence and liable to imprisonment for life.<br />

(2) A person who unlawfully but without the intent specified in subsection (1), causes the<br />

safety <strong>of</strong> any person travelling by railway to be endangered is guilty <strong>of</strong> an <strong>of</strong>fence.<br />

225. Grievous harm<br />

Any person who unlawfully does grievous harm to another is guilty <strong>of</strong> an <strong>of</strong>fence and is liable<br />

to imprisonment for seven years.<br />

226. Attempting to injure by explosive substances<br />

A person who unlawfully, and with intent to do any harm <strong>of</strong> another, puts any explosive<br />

substance in any place whatever, is guilty <strong>of</strong> an <strong>of</strong>fence and liable to imprisonment for fourteen<br />

years.<br />

227. Maliciously administering poison with intent to harm<br />

A person who, unlawfully and with intent to injure or annoy another, causes any poison or<br />

noxious thing to be administered to, or taken by, any person, and thereby endangers his life or<br />

does him some grievous harm, is guilty <strong>of</strong> an <strong>of</strong>fence and liable to imprisonment for fourteen<br />

years.<br />

228. Wounding and similar acts<br />

Any person who–<br />

(a) unlawfully wounds another; or<br />

(b) unlawfully, and with intent to injure or annoy any person, causes any poison or other<br />

noxious thing to be administered to, or taken by any person,<br />

is guilty <strong>of</strong> an <strong>of</strong>fence and liable to imprisonment for three years.<br />

229. Failure to supply necessaries<br />

Any person who, being charged with the duty <strong>of</strong> providing for another the necessaries <strong>of</strong> life,
