destroyed;<br />
(c) being a railway or being any such bridge, viaduct or aqueduct, is damaged, and the<br />
damage is done with intent to render the railway, bridge, viaduct or aqueduct, or the<br />
highway or canal passing over or under it or any part there<strong>of</strong>, dangerous or<br />
impassable, and is thereby rendered wholly or partly dangerous or impassable; or<br />
(d) is the pipeline referred to in the <strong>Tanzania</strong> – Zambia Pipeline Act *(21) and the damage<br />
is done with intent to prevent or obstruct the use <strong>of</strong> the pipeline,<br />
the <strong>of</strong>fender is liable to imprisonment for life.<br />
(4) If the property in question is a testamentary instrument, whether the testator is living or<br />
dead, or a register which is authorised or required by law to be kept for authenticating or<br />
recording the title to any property, or for recording births, baptisms, marriages, deaths or<br />
burials, or a copy <strong>of</strong> any part <strong>of</strong> any such register which is required by law to be sent to any<br />
public <strong>of</strong>ficer, the <strong>of</strong>fender is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years.<br />
(5) If the property in question is a vessel in distress or wrecked or stranded, or anything<br />
which belongs to the vessel, the <strong>of</strong>fender is liable to imprisonment for seven years.<br />
(6) If the property in question is any part <strong>of</strong> a railway, or any work connected with a railway,<br />
the <strong>of</strong>fender is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years.<br />
(6A) If the property in question is used or intended to be used for the purpose <strong>of</strong> providing<br />
necessary service, the <strong>of</strong>fender is guilty <strong>of</strong> an <strong>of</strong>fence and–<br />
(a) if the <strong>of</strong>fence is likely to result in danger to human life or to disrupt, damage, hinder or<br />
interfere with any necessary service or the carrying on <strong>of</strong> such service, shall be liable<br />
to imprisonment for a term <strong>of</strong> not less than twenty years but shall not exceed thirty<br />
years;<br />
(b) if the <strong>of</strong>fence is committed in circumstances which do not result in danger to human<br />
life, shall be liable to imprisonment for a term <strong>of</strong> not less than fifteen years but shall not<br />
exceed twenty years.<br />
(6B) In this section, "necessary service" includes–<br />
(a) any service relating to installation, transmission, supply or distribution <strong>of</strong> electricity or<br />
telecommunication;<br />
(b) any fire service;<br />
(c) any sewerage, rubbish disposal or other sanitation service;<br />
(d) any health, hospital or ambulance service;
