Creative Writing Exercises - Leicestershire County Council

This exercise focuses:
on utilising a series of artworks to inspire and inform emotional progression within a poem.
Producing a poem within the constraints of a given form.
It reveals how a work can be developed from raw material to finished, or nearly finished poem.
Hints and tips:
This is a long exercise, or rather a scheme for a whole workshop - it needs at least three
hours. It is probably best to divide it between separate sessions.
The start of the workshop can utilise various exercises to generate raw material to work with.

Who?
This exercise, or rather workshop scheme,
is best suited to advanced learners and
those who have already gained some
confidence and experience in writing
creatively.
This is much more suited to older
children and adults.
