for traveling to and from our
island and for getting around once
you’re here.
• Alaska Airlines provides daily service
northbound from Seattle and southbound
from other Panhandle cities.
• Alaska Marine highway operates
ferries connecting Alaska with the
lower 48. Ketchikan is a popular
cruise ship port on the Inside Passage,
serving major cruise lines.
• Commuter air carriers connect
Ketchikan with the outlying
communities of southern Southeast
Alaska and Prince Rupert, British
Columbia.
• Inter-Island Ferry Authority provides
daily service between Ketchikan and
hollis on Prince of Wales Island.
Fly or float to The Rock, as we affectionately call our
mountainous island. Alaska Airlines provides daily
flights north- and southbound—and boasts a
Boeing 737 painted to celebrate statehood in 1959.

Transportation
• Ketchikan’s port has moorage for
visiting yachts. Space for private
aircraft is available at Ketchikan
International Airport.
• The complimentary downtown loop
shuttle bus runs May through September;
its circuit begins at Berth 4.
• Rental cars, taxis and public buses—
one of them painted by Ketchikan
artist Ray Troll—offer easy access
around the community.
