Grass Sensotronic The Concept
The beauty of ergonomics
Ergonomics is the trend, just like simple handle-free
furniture fronts. Grass Sensotronic supports both of
these trends. Drawers, pull-outs and interior pull-outs
open and close in response to a gentle tap, they
move different loads of up to 70kg, uniformly open
and shut at the set speed. And the drawers think with
you: they sense resistance and stop, avoid collisions
amongst themselves and protect against injuries.
Intelligence moves. And yet it’s so simple. In
installation and operation alike.
Drawers and pull-outs with Grass Sensotronic
open and close electronically. Silent, harmonious, and
above all: intelligent.
The jam protection feature also makes Grass
Sensotronic exceptional. And your furniture even
more valuable.
Sensotronic performance features
The drawer can be opened by tapping or pulling; a
gentle nudge is sufficient
The drawer is closed by tapping
Tapping determines the direction of travel, the drawer
automatically performs the movement - no effort is
required (in contrast, electromechanical soloutions do
not have power assisted closure)
Can be used with or without handle (the drawer reacts
in accordance with the application)
Blockage recognition over the entire distance - in both
directions
Anti-collision protection (no collision of drawers e.g. in
the case of diagonal corners); drawers can
communicate with one another
Drawer follows a speed profile: Uniform opening and
closing speed irrespective of drawer weight
Transport-assisted solution (heavy loads are moved
by a drive over the entire distance in both directions)
Soft stop at end position: When opened, the drawer
moves softly into its end position
Cushioned closure: Drawer closes softly
Optimal side stability
Interior pull-out logic: Interior pull-out stops before
reaching the extended pull-out and can be closed again
by tapping the pull-out
Position initialisation: Depth adjustment for perfectly
aligned fronts
The intelligence of Grass Sensotronic leads to unique
convenient functions such as end-position dampening,
interior drawer logics, or the load-independent travel
profile.
Grass Sensotronic prevents possible collisions and
damage to the decor.

Grass Sensotronic System Description
1 The cabinet member
Each cabinet member is equipped with
a drive which determines the speed
profile and the opening length. In
addition, the drive reacts to blockages,
pressure, pulling etc. Lengths range
from NL 270 to 650 mm. From nominal
length 400 mm upwards, cabinet
members can bear a load of 70kg. The
screw position remain the same as for
the standard Nova Pro cabinet
member. As the drive is fitted to the rear
end of the cabinet member, an
additional installation depth of 79 mm
is required. Inside cabinet depth:
nominal length + 79 mm. The depth of
the left and right-hand cabinet
members can be adjusted on the
respective cabinet member in order to
achieve properly aligned fronts.
Note: 90 mm high Nova Pro drawer

Notes on the electronics
The power supply unit
The power supply unit should be
placed near a power outlet (power
cord length approx. 2 m). Please note
the “range” of the power supply unit of
approx. 5 m and the number of
cabinet members which can be
connected (see System Description,
page 3). If separate cabinet blocks are
planned (e.g. cooker island), one
power supply unit per cabinet block is
recommended. For safety reasons,
the power supply unit must not be
fitted beneath a sink. An installation
height (must be fitted upright) of 23
cm is to be provided.
Mains connection:
Voltage supply: 90 - 240V
Mains frequency: 50 / 60 Hz
Max. output: 240W
Other notes
Neither the drawer nor the cabinet
member is energised. All live parts are
fully enclosed and inaccessible.

In the event of a power outage, the
drawers can be opened and closed
conventionally. Needless to say, all
the data entered when configuring
the system are retained in the case
of a power outage.
Operating conditions:
Temperature: +/- 0º to +50 ºC
Humidity: 15% to 90%
Notes for cabinet planning
Provide switchable power outlets
(e.g. to allow the user to switch the
system off when going on holiday or
cleaning the drawers). Required
inside cabinet depth: NL + 79 mm.
Use Sensotronic for modern furniture
planning and incorporate fronts
which are flush with the cabinet
sides. Determine the depth of the
cabinet sides on the basis of the
front thickness used and the largest
front gap defined for the cabinet.
Front gap with Sensotronic
To ensure reliable activation when
opening the drawer by tapping, an
activation distance of 3 mm is required.
This gives a front gap (space between
drawer front and front edge of cabinet)
of 3 mm. The activation zone
encompasses the full width of the front.
Depending on the stability of the pullout
and/or the rigidity of the front, it will
be possible to tap at different heights
with a front gap of this size.
Front buffers will enlarge the front gap.
The drawer
The screw positions of the cabinet
member are the same as on the
standard Nova Pro cabinet member.
Special applications where there is
resistance for either the opening or
closing operation cannot be used with
the standard software (e.g. waste
disposal pull-outs with lift-up lid, some
plinth drawers, backward sloping slides,
etc.).
