HEREVER you go in the country during the
busy farm season, in the fields along the main
W highways and out along the crossroads and
byroads, you see Farmalls at work. They may be gray
or a flaming red, but from their lines, and the smooth,
rhythmic businesslike sound of their motors, you can
tell they are Farmalls even before you get close enough
to see the name on the tanks. According to the season
and the locality, you see them plowing, disking, planting,
cultivating, making hay; pulling binders, harvesterthreshers,
potato diggers; threshing grain, husking corn.
Some of them are Farmall 12's; about two in three of
them are Farmall 20's, since the Farmall 20 fits best the
largest group of farms; and some of those you see are
Farmall 30's.
From a distance you can't tell the F-30 from the F-20.
That's because it's built to approximately the same
general dimensions so that the same row-crop implements
can be attached to it. But as you come closer you see
that the F-30 is pulling three, sometimes four, large
bottoms or a 10-foot double-disk harrow with a peg-

tooth harrow or a soil pulverizer trailing the disk. Or
you see it operating a 28-46 threshing rig or doing
other jobs that call for lots of power. Then you realize
that you are looking at the Big Chief of the Farmall
tribe.
The Farmall 30 is the tractor for the row-crop farms
of 300 acres, and larger or smaller farms where for one
reason or another an extra amount of power is required.
Maybe the soil is extra tough to handle, calling for more
pounds-pull at the drawbar. Or perhaps the acreage
is large enough to keep more than one tractor busy and
the owner needs additional drawbar and belt capacity.
Maybe there is an unusual amount of custom work to
be done. Whatever the reason, wherever extra husky,
economical power is required, especially on row-crop
farms, the Farmall 30 fills the bill.
Bear in mind that the Farmall 30 is just the big
brother of the original Farmall, with the same patented
features which, in addition to its reputation for long
life, have enabled Farmall tractors to maintain their
leadership in the all-purpose tractor class.
