Gas Metal Arc Welding - Semiautomatic<br />

Course Description<br />

Designed to instruct welders in welding safety and the Gas Metal Arc<br />

Welding process (GMAW - MIG). The course lasts 1 week, involving<br />

approximately 30 hours of booth instruction, lecture and practice.<br />

Course Content<br />

• Learn fundamentals of GMAW (MIG).<br />

• Instruction on the metal arc transfers of short circuiting, globular,<br />

spray arc, pulsed spray arc, Power Mode and Surface Tension<br />

Transfer ® .<br />

• How various shielding gases affect gas metal arc welding.<br />

• Individual booth time will be dedicated to welding on mild steel,<br />

stainless steel and aluminum in all welding positions.<br />

30 Clock Hours: Lab - 26, Class - 4<br />

Please Note: If a student desires to practice on different types of<br />

welds, and/or materials other than those offered, material must be<br />

provided by student.<br />
