Gas Tungsten Arc Welding<br />

Course Description<br />

Designed to instruct welders in welding safety and the Gas Tungsten<br />

Arc Welding process (GTAW - TIG). The course lasts 1 week, involving<br />

approximately 30 hours of booth instruction, lecture and practice.<br />

Course Content<br />

• Learn fundamentals of GTAW (TIG) for steel, stainless steel and<br />

aluminum.<br />

• Welding procedures are taught on aluminum, carbon<br />

and stainless steels.<br />

• Welding consists of edge, corner, lap and fillet welds in<br />

all positions.<br />

• Welding is limited to regular thin flat material, which does<br />

not include thick plate, pipe or other irregular shapes.<br />

30 Clock Hours: Lab - 26, Class - 4<br />

Please Note: If a student desires to practice on different types of<br />

welds, and/or materials other than those offered, material must be<br />

provided by student.<br />
