b. <strong>Platoon</strong> Comm<strong>and</strong> Net. Each armored cavalry platoon has<br />
its own platoon comm<strong>and</strong> net <strong>FM</strong>. Each section <strong>and</strong> squad of the<br />
platoon operates in this net.<br />
c. <strong>Squadron</strong> Comm<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> Logistical Nets. The troop comm<strong>and</strong>er<br />
operates in the squadron comm<strong>and</strong> net <strong>FM</strong>. The troop<br />
comm<strong>and</strong> post vehicle also operates in this net <strong>and</strong>, in addition,<br />
in the squadron comm<strong>and</strong> net AM. The troop executive officer also<br />
operates in the squadron logistical net <strong>FM</strong>.<br />
d. Nets Used by Artillery Forward Observers. When an artillery<br />
forward observer operates with the armored cavalry troop,<br />
he communicates directly with his parent artillery unit fire direction<br />
center, using available communication equipment.<br />
e. Type <strong>Troop</strong> Nets. See figures 63 <strong>and</strong> 64 for type troop radio<br />
nets.<br />
384. Wire Nets, <strong>Armored</strong> <strong>Cavalry</strong> <strong>Troop</strong><br />
Because of rapid <strong>and</strong> frequent moves by the armored cavalry<br />
troop during combat operations, wire is seldom used. However, in<br />
assembly <strong>and</strong> rear areas <strong>and</strong> in defensive operations, wire can be<br />
used to an advantage. When used, the troop wire net is installed,<br />
maintained, <strong>and</strong> operated by the troop communication personnel.<br />
Normally, the switchboard is installed in the troop comm<strong>and</strong> post<br />
vehicle. bne line is laid to each platoon. The switchboard is connected<br />
with the squadron wire net on lines laid by squadron communication<br />
personnel. Figure 62 depicts a type troop wire net<br />
<strong>and</strong> indicates the equipment used by the armored cavalry troop.<br />
385. Scout <strong>Platoon</strong> Radio Net<br />
The scout platoon organic to the headquarters <strong>and</strong> headquarters<br />
troop of the armor battalion <strong>and</strong> armored infantry battalion operates<br />
its own platoon comm<strong>and</strong> net <strong>FM</strong>. The platoon leader, platoon<br />
sergeant, <strong>and</strong> each section <strong>and</strong> squad leader operate in this net.<br />
In addition, the platoon leader <strong>and</strong> platoon sergeant operate in the<br />
battalion comm<strong>and</strong> net <strong>FM</strong> (figs. 65 <strong>and</strong> 66). For additional information,<br />

386. Scout Section, Combat Comm<strong>and</strong> Headquarters <strong>and</strong> Headquarters<br />
Company, Radio Net<br />
The scout section of the combat comm<strong>and</strong> headquarters <strong>and</strong><br />
headquarters company operates in the combat comm<strong>and</strong> logistical<br />
net <strong>FM</strong>. The section leader <strong>and</strong> each squad leader operate in this<br />
net.<br />
