About Fidelity
Bonding
A Fidelity bond is a free form of business
insurance. It allows businesses to hire a
job seeker who has been previously
determined, or would be determined, to
be a “high risk” employee.
A Fidelity bond is like a "guarantee" to
the employer that the person hired will be
an honest worker. It is a business
insurance policy that protects the
employer in case of any loss of money or
property due to employee dishonesty.
Who will benefit from the
Fidelity Bonding Program?
Any individual who has been
offered a job
Any Employer
Job seekers who are
generally determined to be
high risk include:
Anyone who has ever been on
parole or probation, or has any
police record;
Individuals, persons, or anyone
who has been rehabilitated
through treatment for alcohol or
drug abuse;
Persons with a poor credit
record or who have declared
bankruptcy;
Military personnel who have
been dishonorably discharged;
Persons lacking a work history;
Individuals, persons, or anyone
with a record of arrest,
conviction or imprisonment; or
Any other Employee
determined to be un-bondable
or un-insurable by private
bonding companies or private
insurance companies.
Fidelity Bonds cover:
Theft, Larceny, Forgery and
Embezzlement
Money, securities and other
Property
The employer is able to hire more
qualified job seekers without taking
any risk of worker dishonesty on the
job.
The Fidelity Bonding Program does
not cover: liability due to poor
workmanship; job injuries; work
accidents; bail or court bonds; contract
bonds; performance bonds; or license
bonds. In addition, self-employed
persons are not eligible.
A total of $5,000 to $25,000 of bond
coverage is usually provided. The
initial bond is issued for a 6-month
period and may be renewed. After the
initial six-month period the employee
may be eligible for commercial
bonding purchased by the employer.
Quick and Easy!
NO forms for the employer to
sign
NO deductible for the
employer
NO follow-up questions
NO unexpected terminations
of the policy
The job seeker must be legally eligible
and old enough to work in the United
States. The employment must
automatically deduct federal taxes and
usually must be for 30 or more hours a
week. The employer must make the
applicant a job offer and set a date for
the individual to start work.
Only the Federal Bonding Program
will issue bonds to employers to cover
employees who are determined to be –
NOT BONDABLE through their own
commercial bonds. Contact your local
Bonding Representative for more
information today.
