9.19.2 Adjacent to the secondary access to the mills, stands millcote, two<br />

small 2 storey 19 th century gault brick and slate roof properties which<br />

are dwarfed by the mills towering behind. Numerous views of the red<br />

brick oldest part of the mills are gained across <strong>Soham</strong> Lode and<br />

through the scattered mature trees that line it.<br />

9.19.3 The nine properties that comprise the odd numbers of Angle Common<br />

are arranged in two parallel lines and are a mixture of detached<br />

buildings, with two pairs of semi-detached houses; one pair is 19 th<br />

century and the other probably late 18 th century in origin. No.9 Angle<br />

Common is a particularly attractive and little altered modest 2-storey<br />

house with 3/3 sliding sash windows. Cat slide windows are found on<br />

Nos.3-7 (odds).<br />

9.19.4 To the north of Horse Bridge, the view is unrestricted by trees and the<br />

rear of the converted flint built old mill and adjacent buildings is clearly<br />

visible. The adjacent modern Thomas Mews development is hidden<br />

behind the short strip of buildings that make up the even numbers of<br />

Angle Common. These are arranged in pairs of 19 th century cottages<br />

with the only exception being No.14, a modern detached property.<br />
