Plants with Cardiac Glycosides
Plants with Cardiac Glycosides Nerium oleander is an evergreen shrub in the dogbane family Apocynaceae, toxic in all its parts. Name oleander comes from its superficial resemblance to the unrelated olive Olea europea leaf Among the cardiac glycosides are oleandrin and oleandrigenin, which are known to be toxic when ingested. Dogs and humans, are relatively sensitive to the effects of cardiac glycosides and the clinical manifestations of "glycoside intoxication”.
