Leadership ability was the number one quality named as “what businesses want” in a
survey conducted by the College Review Board. Fraternities foster the necessary leadership
skills to produce active and effective leaders. Fraternity men hold leadership positions in
many student organizations. In fact, Greeks hold more than half of all student leadership
positions across campus! As a result, Greeks dramatically improve campus life for all
students. This year, leadership positions such as the Student Government Association
president, class of 2010 president, class of 2012 president, orientation leaders, and
student government committee chairs are all held by fraternity men.
Greek chapters are self-governing. This means there are many opportunities for students
to be involved in the decision-making processes and the management of their chapters.
Leadership positions exist in every chapter and give members enhanced leadership experience,
which will assist students after graduation when looking for a job. Chapters also open
doors to other opportunities across campus, including a chance to become one of the 13
IFC executive officers.

SOCIAL ACTIvITIES
Sitting alone in your room does not lead to many lasting memories of college. There
are many social activities and ways for fraternity men to become involved. For example,
intramural sports are an integral part of the fraternity experience. Whatever your skill or
interest, there is a team for you. do you like being around a lot of people? There are social
activities for you. Prefer to interact in smaller groups? Many activities are geared toward
you as well. It is through these activities that you get connected to your fraternity, the
Greek community, and the campus.
One of the most enjoyable parts of Greek life at Tech is the social life. Fraternities regularly
attend formal dances, events with sororities, informal socials, themed events, tailgates, and
outdoor activities. This offers members a welcome relief from their academic studies. These
events also help build and maintain meaningful personal relationships. Even more importantly,
Greeks are able to learn the social graces that will benefit them for years to come.
