Digistrob RDS 30
Every external trigger signal can be stepped down to ratios 1 - 999 via the 3-decade input
divider 12. This enables for example, individual adoption to various pulse/rotation or range
extension for rotation speed measuring.
When the adjustment of the divider ≠ 1, this is indicated by the LED 13 beside it.
The display corresponds to the stepped down measured dimension.
5.3 Internal-triggering
For internal triggering the adequate measuring range has to be preselected
with keys 14 and 15. Two ranges can be selected:
Range I 14 : 200 - 4000 min -1
3 - 66 Hz
300- 15 ms
Range II 15 : 1000 - 20000 min -1
15 - 333 Hz
60- 3 ms
By means of the double control knob with step-down 16, the internal oscillator can be
adjusted course and fine, until a steady image has been attained.
The oscillator is now balanced and the sequence of flashes coincides with the motion
sequence.
Rotation speed, frequency and period interval can now be read directly.
For balancing adjustment of the internal oscillator it is of advantage to advance to the
frequency of the measured object "from above". In this manner in most cases, already at the
first steady image, the correct measured value will be shown. On the other hand, a steady
image will also be obtained when the flash frequency is stepped down to a whole numbered
ratio of that of the measured object.
5.4 Hand lamp
The hand lamp is activated by means of pushbutton 17.
The push-button can be locked with button 18. The power
of the flash from the quartz flash tube with white Xenon
light is 0.08 - 0.4 Ws per flash. It is automatically reduced
by steps as the flash frequency increases, so that the
maximum power of the lamp of 25 W is not exceeded. In
the event of overloading the hand lamp is automatically
switched off.
