1 Stroboscopy
1.1 General
With the flashlight stroboscope DIGISTROB RDS 30 fast motion sequences
- which cannot be observed with the naked eye - can be made visible and can be recorded
for measuring purposes.
When intensive light flashes are repeatedly projected to the same point of a moving part, the
eye observes only what becomes visible during the light flash. Because the eye is too slow in
taking up single images at high frequency, this melts into one continuous image. The moving
part seems to stand still, providing the motion sequences coincide with the flash sequences
or with a round multiple of these.
In this manner at the same time the number of revolutions or the interval of periods can be
measured contact less. In order to achieve a really steady image, the stroboscope must have
a high accuracy of flash sequences.
With the integrated phase shifter the timing of the flash (and thus the point of observation)
can be shifted within the motion cycle.
In this manner all kinds of motion sequences can be observed and investigated.
