8 Maintenance, service lifetime, changing the flash tube
The flash-light stroboscope DIGISTROB RDS 30 requires no maintenance.
However it should be protected against moisture. The RDS 30 must not be opened and it
must not be subjected to strong vibration or shock.
Under full load the Xenon white light flash tube has a minimum service lifetime of approx. 250
hours. Also the hand lamp should not be subjected to strong vibration or shock.
For changing a flash tube proceed as follows:
1. Switch off the apparatus!
2. Disconnect the hand lamp!
3. Hold the lamp shade A from the front
and turn with force anti-clockwise, till it
stops (bayonet fitting). Now the lamp
shade can be removed.
4. Remove cover B by inserting a
screwdriver in the small aperture at the
side and twisting it.
5. Loosen the two screws D and E and take
away the side plate C.
6. Now the black cooler body which
encases the flash lamp, can be slid off
forward.
7. The flash tube is now open and can be detached.
Hold the new flash tube only at the plug: When
inserting it, make sure that the catch of the plug
correctly snaps home.
8. The hand lamp is now reassembled in reverse
order. Make sure that the black cooler body is
fastened tightly in its guide. Turn the cover B so,
that the small notch fits into the groove and snaps home.
Also turn the lamp shade A so, that the two notches fit into the the guide.
Then turn the groove towards the upper center slot (clockwise), until the lamp shade
snaps home.
The hand lamp is now again ready for use.
ATTENTION: NEVER APPLY FORCE WHEN DISMANTLING!
