Digistrob RDS 30
6 Description of functions on the rear side
6.1 Connection of lamp
The hand lamp is connected and locked at socket 21.
6.2 External trigger input
If the RDS 30 has to be triggered externally, the external
trigger signal input is connected to the trigger input (socket 22) and the adequate input circuit
is selected at the control elements 8-12 at the front. With mains-synchronous triggering 7
connection for signal at the trigger input 22 is not required.
All supplied pick-ups (see accessories page 16) can be
connected directly to the "trigger" socket 22. For other
emitters and for external voltage sources the wiring
examples on pages 18-20 should be observed.
Allocation of pins and input wiring can be seen on the
diagram on page 17 and the legend on page 4.
6.3 Monitor socket
Pulse output
The RDS 30 has a pulse output as well as an analog output. The 15V/40mA logic signal of
the pulse output at the monitor socket 23 pin 1/2 is also stepped down at the ratio of the input
divider 12, in accordance with the input pulses. Furthermore, the pulse output is temporarily
short-circuit proof.
Analog output
The analog output is taken from pin 5/2 of socket 23, in form of a frequency proportional
voltage. The voltage is 30 mV/Hz or 500 µV/min -1 and has a linearity of ± 5%.
The analog output is also temporarily short-circuit proof, but has no offset balancing.
External gate input
The hand lamp can also be driven externally via the gate input (monitor socket 23, pin 4/2). In
this case the polarity of the gate (high/low - active) can be selected with the selector switch
"mode 3" 24.
