middle order batting. IISJ won by a comfortable 35 run margin with
Nikheil Malakar picking up the man of the match award and IISJ
Phoenix the series.
Even though the series was wrapped up match 3 was no formality
with an unbeaten record and final match for Mr. Thomas as coach at
stake. Phoenix lost the toss and put into bat. As they had proven
throughout Atharva K. and Thayalan K. proved to be solid openers by
keeping out the tight opening BST bowlers, however runs were
scarce. After a run out led to the wicket of Atharva K. IISJ seemed to
have stalled. Up stepped Jatin Sharma and scored an impressive 18
from as many balls to guide IISJ to a total of 75 from 15 overs.
To win BST would have to produce a record score, they didn`t!
Phoenix were far too strong with the ball as Thayalan K. was on a
hat-‐rick with his first 3 balls, although it never came it did lead to a
BST collapse with the finest bowling display a Phoenix team has
produced, with 8 bowlers amongst the wicket takers. IISJ left
unbeaten and Mr. Thomas a proud and happy man.
