The IRS2543D is a high voltage, high frequency half bridge driver control IC <strong>for</strong> dimmable<br />
AC-DC off line LED drivers. This IC utilizes <strong>International</strong> <strong>Rectifier</strong>’s patented control and high<br />
voltage technologies to realize a simple, high-per<strong>for</strong>mance dimming LED driver solution. This<br />
solution is based on a resonant half bridge topology where the high frequency AC output<br />
current is controlled by adjusting the oscillator frequency. This output current is rectified to<br />
provide DC driver current <strong>for</strong> the LED load. A single high-voltage pin senses the half-bridge<br />
current and voltage to provide protection functions. The DC dim input voltage reference and<br />
the AC LED current have been coupled together allowing a single pin to be used <strong>for</strong> dimming<br />
control. Combining these high-voltage control techniques together with a simple dimming<br />
method in a single 8-pin IC results in a large reduction in component count.<br />
