Drifting in… and out… of sleep.<br />
Slowly, racing thoughts are shouting silently into muddled clarity.<br />
Touch, see, smile, connect in <strong>the</strong>se bl<strong>is</strong>sful moments<br />
that <strong>the</strong> curious part of your soul cher<strong>is</strong>hes.<br />
It <strong>is</strong> spoiled in your waking, carelessly strewn onto your floor.<br />
Impatient.<br />
That curious part of your soul <strong>is</strong> now va<strong>can</strong>t.<br />
Torn again, <strong>the</strong>n forced to heal <strong>its</strong> tear<br />
by <strong>the</strong> cooled real<strong>is</strong>ation of a chilled morning air.<br />
For an instant it was, <strong>the</strong>n could, <strong>the</strong>n might, <strong>the</strong>n should,<br />
<strong>the</strong>n <strong>can</strong>not.<br />
But <strong>the</strong> t’s need crossing and <strong>the</strong> i’s need dots?<br />
My friend, passing <strong>the</strong> barrier your pencil was lost.<br />
Put <strong>the</strong> kettle on, let’s settle, drink tea,<br />
try to remember what it was you dreamed.<br />
