--Pam Lontos - Get FRËE publicity tips, subscribe to our monthly enewsletter
at http://www.PRPR.net
For women, keep the busy prints, accessories and jewelry to a minimum.
True colors, like blue, green and gray are more flattering than black, white
and red, which make you look washed out. You want all the attention to be
on your face, not on your wild outfit. Finally, go for natural fabrics like wool,
cotton and linen so you’re more comfortable.
Men should also wear natural fabrics, like wool and cotton for comfort.
Essentially, simple clothing keeps your face and your message at the center
of attention.
2. DO YOU BLOG?
--Jeniffer Thompson, Monkey C Media http://www.monkeycmedia.com
The introduction of the blog into the online world is yesterday's news - but,
many people are still hesitant to create their own blogs because they don't
think they have the time or don't understand the benefits. Here's a quick
reminder as to why you should have your very own web log (blog).
• Strengthen your position as an expert in your field.
• Blogs are interactive - each entry you post allows for readers to make
comments, or ask questions regarding that topic.
• Blogs have Atom Feeds or RSS feeds to notify your readers of new posts
• Blogs allow you to expound on current events and position yourself within
the media
• Fresh content will help increase your page ranking
• Other bloggers will happily link to your blog if you offer something of value
- more links equals a higher page ranking.
Remember, you don't have to post every day, you could post once every two
weeks and still benefit from a blog.
3. PROMOTING BOOKS THROUGH BLOGS.
-- Carrol Wolverton, www.northfloridawriters.org
www.northfloridawriters.org/CarrolW.htm
My most recent novel, Sex, Lies & Real Estate, details the trials of a new real
estate agent trying to survive after her husband abandons her for another
woman.
I searched the web for real estate blogs and happened upon the
inman.com/blogger site. I submitted an article and picture of the cover
telling how useful the book is to new agents or persons interested in the
business because the protagonist makes all the mistakes of a new agent.
Matt Carter of Inman Blog picked up the review and published my comments
and his own.

The results were many hits on my website through North Florida Writers and
a surge in book sales on Amazon.
In short, if your book can be of benefit to persons in any business, skip other
writers and get going on blogs and online discussions among persons who
might actually BUY your book.
4. WHAT CAN THE PMA, THE BOOK PUBLISHERS ASSOCIATION, DO FOR
YOU? See
http://www.pma-online.org/memben.cfm
http://www.pma-online.org/membonly.cfm
5. LIST YOUR BOOK on the Para Publishing web site along with your URL.
There is no charge. See
http://parapublishing.com/sites/para/resources/successstories.cfm
6. PAGE COUNTS
--Clint Greenleaf, CEO of Greenleaf Book Group, LP
www.greenleafbookgroup.com or 512-891-6100
As a book moves out of production and into the distribution process, the
manner in which its page count is tabulated changes. Remember that as a
book is being assembled, the printer needs to know the number of physical
pages in the book, arranged into signatures. But when a book is complete
and moving into bookstores, and as you begin your marketing campaign, it
is more important to give consumers an idea of how many pages in your
book have printed subject matter on them. To give a better idea of the
amount of content contained in the book, use the numbered pages as the
page count after production is complete.
7. SELL MORE BOOKS WITH YOUR NON-FICTION BOOK'S INTRODUCTION
--Bookcoach Judy Cullins offers you 19 more of these tips on book writing,
publishing and marketing when you collect your f.ree eBook "20 Book
Writing and Marketing Tips" at http://www.bookcoaching.com.
Replace your long-winded, "I" centered book introduction with these five
parts. :
1. The hook. Ask a few questions where your audience is now with their
challenges on your topic.
2. The benefits. What will your book do for your readers? Only benefits sell.
3. Why you wrote the book. Just a few sentences.
4. Include the format-what's inside each chapter? Tips, quotes, FACTS, or
stories.
5. Invite them into the book with enthusiasm in your last sentence

8. INCREASE REVENUES WITH INFORMATION PRODUCTS
--Stephanie Chandler – Resources for publishers and entrepreneurs available
at http://businessinfoguide.com/infopreneur.htm
If you’ve published a book (or two or ten) then it’s likely you have a fan
base that is eager for more. You can capitalize on this opportunity by
creating and selling e-books, special reports, workbooks, teleseminars and
other types of information products. Use your monthly e-zine (you do send
one out, right?) to promote your products. Soon you will discover a whole
new revenue stream. And the best benefit of selling electronic products is
that they can generate passive income—money you make while you sleep!
6. THERE IS NO BETTER TIME TO SEND REVIEW COPIES THAN EARLY IN
THE YEAR. Where to send review copies and news releases. Advertising
space is expensive. Editorial space is frēe. Use these lists to send review
Authors have a responsibility to answer their mail. If a reader writes you
with a question, it is an opportunity to rethink the issue and to save your
reply for future articles, speeches and books. It is a way to find out what
your audience needs.
Generally, viruses infect your computer when you open an email message.
I answer all my mail—myself. I do not open those I can’t identify as virus
f.ree and not spam.
If we recognize the name of the sender, we normally open their message.
We should also evaluate the header or subject line.
If you want your messaged opened, title it as you would a book. Including a
subject such as “Important”, “Hi”, “Read this”, “Happy New Year”, and so
on, does not tell what the message is about.
If I do not reply to you, check the header/subject on your message,
