How does a housefly eat<br />
To find out whether something is good to eat, a<br />
housefly tastes it with its feet, which are thought to be<br />
ten million times more sensitive to sugar than the human<br />
tongue. A housefly can’t bite, so if it wants to eat solid<br />
food it has to spread its digestive juices over it – rather<br />
like vomiting! The food turns soft, and the fly can then<br />
dab at it with its sponge-like mouthparts.
