of <strong>the</strong> same, until by some sinister counsel of his honour’s officers, <strong>the</strong>y<br />

were constrained to pay <strong>the</strong>se eighteen years past, rents for <strong>the</strong> said half, as<br />

much as strangers, without any observ<strong>at</strong>ion of <strong>the</strong> conditions of <strong>the</strong> aforesaid<br />

indenture; for which <strong>the</strong>y procured a claim to be entered in due called<br />

back <strong>the</strong>ir said deeds, and passed over o<strong>the</strong>rs to me of <strong>the</strong>ir interest in <strong>the</strong><br />

same, which I have with <strong>the</strong> said indenture of his honour; and desiring<br />

to enter in amiable composition with you for <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r half, or ra<strong>the</strong>r for<br />

<strong>the</strong> only four quarters of <strong>the</strong> very Glean, and two quarters of Clonfada,<br />

<strong>the</strong> revenue of which (if we agree) I will leave to Sir John Macnamary my<br />

cousin, during his life, desiring only to have <strong>the</strong> possession, since I have<br />

my cre<strong>at</strong>ion in <strong>the</strong> same, and not for any benefit I ever expect for me, or<br />

my only son, which will not forsake wh<strong>at</strong> he have here by his mo<strong>the</strong>r, for a<br />

hundred times so much, and if your worship be pleased to remit our agreement,<br />

for <strong>the</strong> said six quarters, to Mr Teig O’Brien your uncle, MacIbrien<br />

Arra, and Donogh O Grady, which are nearer to you, than to me, and most<br />

worthy worshipful men of equity; I am content to conclude with you, for<br />

<strong>the</strong> said, six quarters and referring all o<strong>the</strong>r circumstances herein, to <strong>the</strong><br />

bearer Mr Longe, to insinu<strong>at</strong>e to you <strong>from</strong> me to avoid prolixity expecting<br />

your speedy answer, and resolution by <strong>the</strong> said bearer for to be sent unto<br />

me by <strong>the</strong> way I ordained with my love and humbled duty to your worship<br />

Mallowne, Owne mcTeig I Mallowne for <strong>the</strong>m and <strong>the</strong> rest of <strong>the</strong>ir sept on<br />

<strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r party to be performed <strong>the</strong> one to <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r, as hereafter followeth<br />
