<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> nativity <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Lord [25 December] and<br />

twelve marks on <strong>the</strong> feast <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> nativity <strong>of</strong> St<br />

John <strong>the</strong> Baptist [24 June], and an annual pension<br />

<strong>of</strong> 24 marks <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> prior and cony. <strong>of</strong> St Oswald at<br />

<strong>the</strong> same terms.<br />

pointing <strong>to</strong> this entry in which <strong>the</strong> words vicaria<br />

and vicariam have been written over erasures.<br />

pointing <strong>to</strong> this entry. The words vicaria and<br />

vicariam in no. 214 are clearly alterations. Bp.<br />

Stret<strong>to</strong>n's register notes that <strong>the</strong> text <strong>of</strong> this<br />

and o<strong>the</strong>r institutions <strong>to</strong> Winwick vicarage were<br />

inspected and evidence heard that ecclesia and<br />

ecclesiam had been altered <strong>by</strong> John de Leycestr',<br />

chapter clerk <strong>of</strong> Lichfield. The commissary ordered<br />

vicaria and vicariam <strong>to</strong> be res<strong>to</strong>red in <strong>the</strong> text<br />

instead <strong>of</strong> ecclesia and ecclesiam, see The<br />
