merits of his competence (probitatis) and the
industrious and fervent zeal for the service of
God and cure of souls of Richard de Chadesden,
priest, the bp. collates him to the vac. vicarage
of Whalley (Whalleye) with all its rights and
appurtenances, devolved to the bp. for this turn
by lapse of time by authority of the Lateran
Council.
