375. kept teasing me, he's bought plastic dust sheets and he keeps saying<br />

376. he's going to cello tape them from the kitchen all the way up the<br />

377. stairs to the bedroom and bathroom coz I'm not ruining his carpet<br />

378. (laughs). Oh, that's the only thing that we've sort of like mucked<br />

379. about on, you know plastic dust sheets and a plastic sheet for the<br />

380. bed that he's put on already in case anything happens. <strong>And</strong>, that's<br />

381. you know, if (pause) he's got a very very good sense of humour<br />

382. like that. Yeah, he was against it, I suppose at the beginning when I<br />

383. first mentioned home birth, it was a case ofdarling, what if<br />

384. something goes wrong? <strong>And</strong> I said, but you can say that in hospital<br />

385. as well, I said, 50, you know, it's a chance you've got to take? <strong>And</strong><br />

386. he sat down, and I bought a magazine, and we read that together',<br />

387. and it was pros and cons? <strong>And</strong> believe ft or not even in the<br />

388. magazine there was more pros to having a home birth than cons.<br />

389. So he sat back and he said give me a couple <strong>Of</strong> days, I said alright<br />

390. and then we sat down one evening when he wasn't at work and he<br />

391. said, Okay, if that's what you want. You know and he's been<br />

392. brilliant since! There has been no hostility from him about it,<br />

393. when the midwife was I suppose sitting and chatting about it, I was<br />

394. expecting him to sort of sit back and think you know well, hang<br />

395. on, he didn't, he was with me 100%. So (pause)<br />

• What worried him most about the home birth?<br />

396. Um, I think it, like he said, it was a Case <strong>Of</strong> fanything went wrong,<br />

397. urn, having to wait for an ambulance to come,<br />

398. and then the ambulance to take me from here to the hospital,<br />

399. he was worried that it might threaten my life?<br />

400. <strong>And</strong> when I explained to him that (pause) they know in advance,<br />
