All are priced the same in bulk. $2.00/lb + $1 for pail We now offer 1 lb jars of honey. 1 lb glass jar $3.75 Assortment of 5 honeys (1 lb ea) $16.50 Quality honey is the most delicious sweetener on earth and mead is exquisite. If you have never made mead, give it a try. It’s very easy and requires no additional equipment. I recently made 3 five gallon batches in 2 hours. Prickly Pear Puree $6.50/lb $40/6 lb •only at St. Pats Prickly pear fruit has a rich magenta color and tastes like strawberry and honeydew melon and smells like roses. It has long been a favorite for mead makers but previously was available only in southwest on a seasonal basis (we just picked some). We now offer the meat of the prickly pear fruit year round. This puree is fruit with the skin removed. It is not pasteurized and is perishable so it must be kept frozen. No problem shipping UPS within Texas and neighboring states but must be shipped 2-day for distant customers. Here’s a recipe based on Brian Meyers of Australia who won gold in national competition. Prickly pear cacti and mesquite trees grow alongside each other in this area. And yes, that is a prickly pear in our logo. Also great in beer as evidenced by the wonderful Desert Cactus Ale of Waterloo Brewing Company. Recipe on line soon. This is the same agave nectar used in Tequiza. Here’s a recipe for Tequiza clone and a very poplular mead that I have on tap now. I’ve added several varieties. •Black Raspberry Merlot $46 •Peach Apricot Chardonnay $46 •Hard Lemonade $44.75 Vintners Reserve Kits-now with more juice •Pinot Noir $54.75 •Shiraz $54.75 •Gewurztraweiner $54.75 •Sauvignon Blanc $47.75 Selection Premium Wine Kits •Italian Verdicchio $74.75 •White Zinfandel $74.75 •Sherry makes 3 gallons $51 •Port makes 3 gallons $51 •Italian Barolo, very popular red $69.75 •French Sauvignon Blanc $74.75 •Johannesberg Reisling $69.75 Wine by Hugh Johnson, $18.75 Nice book describing wine varieties with tasting notes Wine Plate Filter New plate filter for wine. Easy to use and cheaper than competitive models. Filter wine before bottling. Use coarse for first filtration. This removes all sediment but leaves some yeast. Coarse takes about 30 minutes. Fine filtration for polished wine. Fine filtering may take 4 hours. You will need a large aquarium pump (for at least 50 gallon aquarium). Each filtration requires two filters. Not recommended for beer (or wine) if you have kegging system. Cartridge filters (see catalog) which can be used under pressure with a kegging system are much faster, easier to use, and do not get clogged as plate filters are prone to do. Complete Filter Set (filter plate, tubing, clamp, 4 coarse and 4 fine filters) $52.75 Replacement Filters: Coarse (7 micron) or Fine (3 micron) $4.00 for 2
