Alyth Show
Above: Crowds gathered round the Main ring once the weather
brightened up. Show president Dugald Hamilton stated gate numbers
were up on previous years helped by the minibus service from town.

Alyth Show on 14th June unfortunately experienced
unsettled weather for much of the day. However, the
cold morning was followed by a lunchtime torrential
downpour which gave way to a sunny and much
warmer afternoon. The local community supported
the show and enjoyed the range of entertainment in
the main ring, while judging classes produced many
worthy winners with the quality of stock being very
high.

Above right: The Industrial Tent saw increased visitors particularly between showers, but they were not disappointed by the level and quality of
entries. The wide range of home-baking and preserves, knitted garments, flower arrangements, photographs, displays and children’s colouring-in
was much admired.

Above: Alyth & District Pipe Band played at the show to an appreciative crowd. It’s only two years since the band played their very first event at
the show, long before they could afford the fantastic uniform they now wear. Congratulations to you all, Alyth is immensely proud of you!
