Seelig Method in PASS_MOOR The prediction method adopted in the spreadsheet PASS-MOOR is composed of two parts as described by Seelig (2001). First, deep water predictions are based on the theory of Wang (1975) and account for ship speed, ship dimensions, and separation distance. Second, empirical adjustments are applied that account for effects of reduced underkeel clearance. The deep water predictions are obtained from dimensionless graphs. An example is shown in Figure 20 for the sway force; similar graphs are given by Wang (1975) and Seelig (2001) for the surge force and yaw moment. FY / Q X / L Figure 20.
