Sashtang Dandavat Pranams normally and one<br />

Hands, feet, knees, chest, forehead, vision,<br />

mind and speech, these being the eight parts<br />

(elememts) of the body touching the ground while<br />

prostrating before the idol of God is called<br />

“Sashtang Dandavat Pranam”<br />

Women devotees should perform Panchang<br />

Pranam, which involves five elements of the body<br />

touching the ground.<br />

(Karãbhyãm shirasã drishyã mansã vachasã cha sã.)<br />

Hands, head, vision, mind and Speech are<br />

the five elements or parts of the body of women,<br />

which should touch the ground while performing<br />

‘Pranams’ before the idol of God, and this is<br />

called ‘Panchang Pranam’.
