(8) Thereafter one ‘MALA’ should be performed<br />

chanting the ‘DIKSHA MANTRA’ which is taught<br />

by our ‘ACHARYA/GURU’. Then the meals<br />

should be performed chanting the<br />

“<strong>Swaminarayan</strong>” mantra. For every single head<br />

the <strong>Swaminarayan</strong> mantra should be chanted.<br />

(9) Penance Mala.<br />

Thereafter one MALA should also be performed<br />

standing on the left leg with the right foot<br />

raised towards the left thigh and keeping both arms<br />

in the upward direction.<br />

In Pulahashram, Shri NeelKanthvarni, also<br />

performed penance in this manner pleasing Lord<br />

<strong>Swaminarayan</strong> (the sun God).<br />

It is believed that the SUN GOD is easily<br />

pleased by such acts of devotion and our faith in<br />

God always remains strong and positive.<br />

PRADAKSHINA<br />

One should then perform mala while calmly<br />

walking around the God’s ideol in a clockwise<br />

direction. This is called Pradikshna. During<br />

pradikshna ones mind shoul concentrate on the<br />

form of God, having His darshan from all four<br />

directions.<br />
